Founding Design Partner Lead (Sales & Discovery)

The role
This is not a closing seat. It's an early-stage seat about finding the right personal injury firms, getting deep into their actual closeout workflow, and converting the strongest ones into design partners.
You'll spend more time asking questions than pitching. More time on Zoom with paralegals describing their disbursement process than running scripted demos. The goal of the first six months isn't revenue — it's a small set of design partners we'd build the entire product around.
Expect mess. The motion doesn't exist yet. You'll help shape the product and the sales approach at the same time, in conversation with the founder.
What you'll own
- High-volume, targeted outreach to personal injury firms in the 10–200 attorney range.
- Discovery-first conversations with paralegals, attorneys, and managing partners — workflow mapping, not pitch decks.
- Mapping each firm's real closeout process: liens, disbursement, signature, where money gets stuck.
- Identifying which firms are genuine design partner candidates and converting them into pilots.
- Translating what you hear directly into product decisions, weekly.
What we're looking for
- Comfort operating in ambiguity. The playbook doesn't exist yet. You'll write parts of it as we go.
- Genuinely curious about how things actually work. You ask three more questions where most people would move on.
- Strong listener. Design partners say more than they pitch — you have to catch what matters and reflect it back.
- Comfortable holding your own with skeptical senior buyers. PI partners are conservative, smart, and notice when someone has done the work.
- Hands-on and high-output. You're sourcing your own conversations, running your own calls, writing your own follow-ups.
Bonus
- Prior experience inside a personal injury firm, claims operation, or healthcare ops team.
- Have done founding sales, BD, or design partner work at an early-stage company before.
- Know how to read a 40-page health plan or a settlement statement without flinching.
Compensation
Meaningful founding equity. Base + variable scaled to experience. We're early-stage and we price the role accordingly. Happy to walk through the actual numbers on a first call.
