Why Closeout
Closeout is building the system that finishes a personal injury case, the back half nobody else has fixed: liens, disbursement, and a defensible record. It's unglamorous, high-leverage work, and most firms still do it by hand.
We're small, early, and moving fast with real firms. You'll shape both the product and how we work as we grow, close to the founder and close to the people who actually use it.
Who this is for
A personal injury paralegal who has carried liens end to end: chasing payoffs, arguing reductions, reconciling a disbursement, and answering for it afterwards. You know which parts of that work are genuinely hard and which parts are only hard because nobody built anything for them.
What you'd do
- Work real closeouts in Closeout and tell us, bluntly, where it slows you down.
- Shape how liens, payoff requests, and settlement statements actually behave, before they are built rather than after.
- Bring the edge cases: the carrier who never calls back, the plan language nobody reads, the lien that surfaces the week of disbursement.
- Help us decide what is worth building next, and what is not.
Compensation
This role is equity only. There is no salary attached to it today, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up: it is a bet on where Closeout is headed, taken with someone who knows this work cold. Equity vests on a standard schedule.
If you need paid work right now, this is not the right role, and we would rather tell you that here than three conversations in. When we open a paid operations seat, you would be first in line for it.
Time commitment
Part-time and flexible, mostly async, with the occasional call. Built to sit alongside a full-time job rather than replace one.
