Settlement disbursement

  • Reconciles the client, lienholders, costs, and fees to the cent
  • Holds release until the client signs and an attorney authorizes
  • Records every payment in the matter ledger

How it works

From the settlement figure to a closed case.

  1. 01

    Reconcile to the cent

The gross settlement, fees, costs and every lien payoff are balanced before anything moves.

  2. 02

    Verified payoffs only

A lien is paid only against a verified payoff, so a stale or estimated figure cannot slip into the statement.

  3. 03

    Sign and authorize

The client signs the settlement statement and an attorney authorizes the disbursement before release.

  4. 04

    Close with a record

Every payment is recorded in the matter ledger, and the case closes with the full history attached.

Disburse & Close

Close the case with the books closed too.

Reconciled, signed, authorized and recorded, in one place.

Questions, answered.

The settlement statement has to balance, every lien being paid needs a verified payoff, the client has to sign, and an attorney has to authorize the disbursement.

The approval tied to it is withdrawn and the statement has to be approved again, so what is paid always matches what was signed.

Finalizing closes the case, with the statement, payoffs and payments kept together as the record of how the settlement was divided.
